Chestnut & Ash collection shortlisted for an Elle Decoration British Design Award

Earlier this year we worked together with Benchmark to develop the Chestnut and Ash collection, to reignite craftsmanship and reveal new and innovative uses for coppiced timber.

We are delighted to discover that the cabinet and sideboard from this collection have been shortlisted for an Elle Decoration British Design Award, in the Best British Sustainable Design category.

We collaborated with Benchmark because of our shared passion for sustainability, craftsmanship and design to use an abundant and self-replenishing material so to appear on this shortlist is reassurance of a job well done. We need your help to win the accolade of Best British Sustainable design though. You can vote for the Chestnut and Ash Collection here. You need to place a vote for each category but it will only take a few moments.

We’ve worked so hard to champion British hardwoods as a sustainable material. Help us shout our green beliefs even louder and spread our message even further.

Made from sustainable crops of coppiced chestnut, well-managed ash and combining the ancient skill of cleaving – the controlled splitting of wood along its grain – and contemporary furniture making techniques, the Chestnut and Ash range has a simple and textural aesthetic that we’re incredibly proud of. This collection sits where traditional meets modern; honestly showing how the tree grew, how the pieces are constructed and how the hands of the craftsman made them.
