Products of Silviculture – Coppiced hazel furniture.

This collection is made from locally coppiced hazel, which is harvest by hand. Coppicing is a woodland management method that provides a renewable supply of wood.

As well as being made from sustainable materials, this collection is designed to be visually lightweight and unobtrusive resulting in pieces that have aesthetic longevity. The name of each piece is from the vocabulary used by traditional woodmen, many words from which are now almost lost.

Other British Hardwood Products.

These pieces are made from responsibly sourced native hardwoods, such as Sycamore, Ash, and Oak. Although they aren’t harvested using a coppice cycle, these larger trees are an important part of any woodland management scheme.

The products are also designed with simplicity, allowing the natural beauty of the timber coupled with the methods of construction to provide aesthetic interest.
