>This chap’s work appeared on a blog I follow called ‘Contemporist’. It was a stone table and caught my eye because of it’s raw form.

He again caught my attention with his ‘Fragments of Nature’ table and bench. A nice and simple idea that seems well executed. Again I feel a little bugged by the blurb put with the image, ‘Pott intends for the pieces to go into production yet keep the individuality of something that has been hand crafted.’ Has ‘hand crafted’ been reduced to assembling some leg shaped branches to some machined boards? I suppose there is a degree of skill in this but I’m concerned the term ‘hand crafted’ is becoming a little diluted in marketing babble along with ‘eco‘ and ‘bespoke’. Perhaps the jointing methods are incredibly complex and they didn’t show a picture of this.
It is still an original design and I like the idea very much.
