Bespoke furniture designed and made in our own studio and workshop in London
How to commission
-
We design to your brief. This could be something entirely new or a customised version of a piece from our collections. All bespoke commissions include a design fee equivalent to 10% of the total project value. This means that we produce drawings for your review and make revisions until we get it right. As a result, every commission has a design lead time as well as production lead time. Depending on the size and scale of the project this can vary between days and weeks and will be discussed with you at the point of enquiry. Once you’re happy with your design, we prepare thorough technical drawings to guide the workshop in their making.
-
We're proud to use diverse and characterful natural materials, hand-selected for each project. We happily use wood with shakes, knots, ripple and waney edges and unless specified at the point of enquiry these character features may appear in your final commission. Samples of the British grown wood that we work with are available to guide creative conversations and aid decision making. You can also get a sense of the full material palette on offer by looking at our material source book here.
-
We generally work to a 12 week lead time from receipt of a deposit but have been known to make and deliver pieces more quickly when a client has needed us to. If you need your commission delivered by a particular date please state this clearly at the point of enquiry and we'll be happy to help. We encourage our customers, wherever possible, to visit the workshop to see their piece take shape.
-
The cost of our work is determined by the materials we use and the time it takes to make each project. Because you’re buying directly from our own workshop we don’t ask you to pay a retail mark up. Once a design and material palette is agreed upon we’ll create a quotation for your approval. After approval we’ll ask for a 50% deposit to secure the production slot in the workshop and the remaining 50% when the piece is ready to leave us and be delivered to you.
-
We offer varying delivery and installation options depending on the nature of the commission and your individual requirements. For a small fee, we happily conduct site visits to gather the access information needed for a smooth delivery. The price for delivery can be calculated once we have an idea of the scale of the commission, based on the delivery address and level of service you require. Import duty is additional to the cost of international delivery and will be invoiced in your local region once delivery has been made.

Our furniture is easy to live with and look after. Everything we make leaves our workshop with a ten year guarantee and warranty too. Our finishes are derived from natural oils and waxes that are kind to our material, offering hard-wearing protection while still allowing the wood to breathe. We’ve compiled a guide to looking after your furniture day to day, monthly and annually here. We also offer a refinishing service, subject to quotation.

Your tree. Our mill.
We use our sawmills to give new life to clients’ trees that have fallen or had to be cut down as part of their own land management plans. We take great pleasure in collaborating in this way, quite literally, from tree to table.
