Design assistant

We’re looking for a Design assistant to join our team and work with our Lead Designer to realise bespoke and custom designs; from furniture to complex interiors to structures and beyond.

 
 
  • Design in response to briefs created by our sales team using SketchUp; package them up for clients using Layout; prepare them in technical working detail ready for the workshop. This encompasses adjusting existing designs and generating entirely new designs in equal measure across furniture, spaces, structures and beyond. 

    You will work in close collaboration with our Lead designer, Seb and Brogan. You will work collaboratively with out brilliant workshop team. You’ll meet our wonderful clients.

    This is a part time role that the right candidate can grow into a full time role. Our Design assistant will be based in Margate three consecutive days a week. Our working hours are 08:00 - 17:00.

  • // Is fluent in SketchUp, Layout and Fusion 360. 

    // Has experience in product, furniture or interior design with a keen interest in how furniture is made. 

    // Has CNC experience.

    // Has an eye for detail, positive attitude, great time management.

Experienced maker

We’re looking for experienced makers who have spent time in commercial workshops to join our brilliant team, based between London and Kent. This role is busy and collaborative and requires proven workshop experience as well as enthusiasm and team spirit.

 
 
  • Reading technical drawings to make entire pieces of furniture from start to finish, under the guidance of our Studio Manager and Sebastian, to an excellent quality on time.

    Working in collaboration with our designers to understand the nuances of each design and choose timber and finishes accordingly.

    Work collaboratively with other makers in the workshop to maintain a professional pace of work in a clean and tidy workshop.

    Co-ordinate with the Studio Manager.

    We work a nine day fortnight so this position is from 08:00 - 17:00 with every other Friday off, in line with the rest of our team.

  • // Has experience in a commercial workshop environment.

    // Has experience working with solid wood.

    // Has some experience using a CNC (desired, not essential)

    // Has a clean driving license (desired, not essential).

    // Has an ability to maintain a keen eye for detail while working at pace

Machinist and sawyer

We’re looking for a skilled machinist with an appetite for saw milling and logistics to join our new machine shop in Kent, near Maidstone.

 
 
  • Primarily machining timber to supply our London workshops but will also include milling and drying sawn logs using our kiln and band mill. Training is available for this aspect of the role.

    The role involves van driving and delivering duties as well as internal logistics.

    We work a nine day fortnight so this position is from 08:00 - 17:00 with every other Friday off, in line with the rest of our team.

    This is a unique and varied role within the business covering working with fresh trees through to machined timber.

  • Is highly organised and self motivated.

    Is able to service and upkeep machines.

    Has a thorough understanding of solid wood and how to read it.

    Has proven solid wood work experience.

    Has a full driving license.
